PHCS Emerging Biopharma Partnering Manager, (Emerging Biopharma, Path Labs) will lead the PHCS's new business development activities for Path Labs and is accountable for Roche's Global Personalized Healthcare Solutions new incremental revenue related to the Path Lab portfolio. The successful candidate in this role will be responsible for identifying, driving and creating relationships with new and existing emerging biopharma partners. This role is primarily responsible for sourcing and onboarding new biopharma partners and developing strategic plans to create a qualifi ed pipeline of opportunities to drive sustainable revenue and growth. This role will report to the Head of the PHCS Pharma Partnering team at Roche Diagnostics Solutions and will be expected to work collaboratively across the organization to achieve results. Customers are pharmaceutical and/or therapeutic device companies that partner with Roche Diagnostics for their pharma services and companion diagnostic projects. We seek a highly motivated, collaborative individual with a strong drive to succeed who enjoys building, infl uencing, and working with a diverse team.

The Opportunity:

Leads new business development for the Emerging Biopharma Partnering effort, contracts management activities for the Path Lab Customer Area portfolio serving global customers.

Establishes objectives and develops business strategies needed to increase the penetration of external (i.e. non-Roche Group) emerging biopharma accounts.

Develops, maintains and executes a strong pipeline of new business and qualifi ed leads across all different diagnostic testing modalities.

Maintains a good understanding of the trends in the pharmaceutical industry and how they impact the companion diagnostic business. Leverages these insights to support the strategic plan of the organization.

Conducts research on emerging business trends and economic requirements of the pharmaceutical industry and researches, screens and recommends key target companies for business alliance.

Works with Project and CAP/CLIA Lab leadership to ensure projects can be fully supported and delivered on quality and time.

Closely collaborates with all functions (e.g. legal, regulatory, development) to align our partnership activities with the capabilities of the organization.

Travel: Estimated 25%

Who You Are:

You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Life Science

You hold a minimum of 6-8 years of experience in sales, partnering, or new business development activities.

You have a proven track record in achieving company goals through the creation of strategic partnerships, including pre-contract negotiations and post-contract alliance management.

You possess experience with the establishment of contracts, development of pricing strategies and monitoring contract fulfi llment

Working knowledge of worldwide pharmaceutical and in vitro diagnostic markets, including product development strategies, regulatory environment, relevant technologies and global commercialization.

You have a high-level understanding of the different diagnostic testing modalities and ability to advise partners on the best technological options.

You bring a strong background and knowledge of immunohistochemical technologies

You have the ability to identify market opportunities and develop and execute plans to capitalize on them.

You understand and are comfortable with a scientific background related to both pharmaceutical and diagnostic products.

Preferred Qualifications:

You hold an advanced degree; MBA or PhD is preferred.

You have business experience including prior tactical and/or strategic marketing and sales experience with a heavy emphasis on corporate business development. Previous experience in the Companion Diagnostics field or pharma partnering is strongly preferred.
