The Market Research & Competitive Intelligence manager is a critical role to effectively develop and execute best practice to deliver clear, integrated, actionable insights driving informed decision making in brand/TA/cooperate level at Sanofi.
The Market Research & Competitive Intelligence manager role often includes components of project execution of market research, CI and elevated insight generation. Beyond project management and leverage external vendor, this role is pivotal in transforming diverse data sources into high-impact in-house insights that drive decision-making for our most critical assets. You will be responsible for not only delivering actionable intelligence but also leading the digital transformation of our insight capabilities through AI integration, methodology innovation, and team upskilling.
This role partners closely with both the Insight & Analytics MRCI lead, Brand partner of I&A team & Brand business owner on a daily basis to run and monitor transversal priorities and deliver high impact analysis.
Main responsibilities:
Lead MRCI projects and leverage multiple resource to provide insightful analysis to drive informed decision
Fully understand business questions, and have capability to convert into research questions
Provide strategic insights and recommendations to support brand strategy and commercial decision making with integration from multiple resource
Work as TA expert, scientific & clinical landscape synthesis is critical to deep understand specific disease areas, including but not limited to epidemiology, disease pathology and the clinical patient journey, competition landscape
Lead and execute complex market research projects across multiple therapeutics areas
Design and implement both primary and secondary research methodologies to address strategic business questions
Conduct comprehensive competitor intelligence analysis and market landscape assessments
Work with Global MRCI team and have regular communication mechanisms to ensure sufficient utilization of key findings from global MRCI projects or resources
Utilize various solid external resources & AI technology to understand industry dynamic, benchmarking, customer insight, pipeline product insight
Conduct deep-dive analysis of top pharma company quarterly financial report and earning call to identify shifts in their portfolio strategy, regional investment, priorities in China
In house insight generation by monitoring China industry & market dynamic, policy developments, leading pharmaceuticals dynamic to identify opportunity & treats through maximize global & local platform or resources utilization with timely delivery mechanisms
Drive continuous improvement in insight generation efficiency by sourcing and implementing new methodologies, building strategic partnerships, and integrating AI technology.
Systematically evaluate emerging approaches, pilot innovative solutions, and scale successful implementations to enhance research quality and speed
Stakeholder management & collaboration
Lead cross functional collaboration with marketing, medical, access or other key stakeholders
Manage relationships with external research vendors and agencies to ensure high quality deliverables
Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and priorities
Serve as the primary point of contact for market research expertise within the organization
Support MRCI lead to create GC MRCI Governance to support decision making and information sharing within the organization
Work out standardized framework based on accumulated case experience to better manage market research and CI projects
Ensure research initiatives are synchronized with the product lifecycle to optimize Expense Allocation.
Drive continuous improvement in research processes and methodologies
About you
Basic qualifications:
Master’s degree in clinical medicine/pharmacy or consulting firm working experience, with NPP experience is preferred
Over 5-8 years of relevant professional business experience in consulting firm in pharmaceutical industry or with experience in pharma corporation/consumer industry is preferred
Project experience in market research for products in different stages of lifecycle, especially for pre-launch study to support on launch preparation and NPP business case assessment, pricing or long-term forecasting is a plus
Strong expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
Business acumen with ability to see the bigger picture
Ability to work cross-functionally, strong team player
Ability to manage confidential information and understand relevance and sensitivity
Ability in desk research from industry website and clinical website
Strong project management skills with attention to detail
Fluency in English (both written and spoken)
Leadership Skills:
Results orientation executes, is comfortable with ambiguity, and adapts with agility
Self-starter, works independently and can drive action across the team and with stakeholders
Preferred qualifications:
Familiar with external data source like CHPA, hospital level data
Working experience in financial report & earning call analysis & policy monitoring
Industry knowledge such as field operations, omnichannel, policy, etc. a plus
