THE POSITION
Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health is seeking a Senior Production Services & Formulation Technician to join our Operations team at the Pirbright manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for supporting vaccine and antigen manufacturing activities, ensuring products are produced safely, efficiently and in compliance with GMP, biosafety and EHS requirements. You will play a key role in formulation, sterile filling, production services and clean room operations, whilst also supporting continuous improvement initiatives, training colleagues and helping to drive operational excellence within the department.
This is a fixed-term contract till December 2027 and a fully site-based position in Pirbright.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform formulation and sterile filling activities for animal health vaccines and antigens in accordance with GMP procedures.
Support clean room operations, gowning qualifications and aseptic process simulations.
Prepare, clean, sterilise and maintain production equipment, vessels and process lines.
Operate and maintain autoclaves, ensuring materials and equipment are available to production teams.
Manage production documentation and ensure data integrity within SAP, LIMS and GMP systems.
Lead or support investigations, deviations, CAPAs and change controls.
Train and coach technicians and provide specialist support across the department.
Support the planning and implementation of process improvements and operational excellence initiatives.
Participate in production area call-out rotas and support out-of-hours activities when required.
Ensure compliance with GMP, Biosafety, EHS and company procedures at all times.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience working in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, vaccine or similarly regulated manufacturing environment.
Strong GMP knowledge and experience working within quality management systems.
Experience working in clean room or sterile manufacturing environments.
Minimum of 5 GCSEs including English, Mathematics and Science (Grade 4/C or above).
Strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively within a team.
Experience investigating deviations, managing CAPAs and supporting change controls.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Competency using Microsoft Office applications.
