The Position

The Position

In Roche's Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organization (pRED), we create transformative medicines for patients to address some of the world's most challenging unmet healthcare needs. At pRED, we are united by our mission to transform science into medicines.

Together, we foster a culture defined by curiosity, responsibility, and humility, empowering our talented people to deliver life changing innovation with excellence and speed.

This position is situated within the Bioanalytics and Biomarkers (BioAM) Chapter of the Pharmaceutical Sciences (PS) function. Our chapter is accountable for developing Bioanalytical and Biomarker methods and implementing them in Roche clinical studies to help guide drug development. We closely collaborate with different disease therapeutic areas and other functions to convert hypotheses into innovative therapeutics.

Your impact

You independently develop and establish mass spectrometric (LC-MS) and immuno-analytical methods for the detection of therapeutic proteins (drugs), anti-drug antibodies directed against them, as well as soluble target molecules and protein biomarkers in various animal and human sample matrices.

You coordinate the provision of the required tailored critical reagent tools, as well as their quality control.

You document your generated results accurately and reliably in laboratory protocols and qualification reports.

You consolidate and interpret the results you have achieved and present them within the department as well as in higher-level project team meetings.

You develop mass spectrometric methods and can ideally combine them with immunological technologies.

In this context, you evaluate and establish new innovative, ultra-sensitive, and multiplexing-capable specialty technologies.

Your role also includes close collaboration with numerous internal (pRED) and external cooperation partners, as well as the transfer of assays and reagents to Contract Research Organizations (CROs) worldwide.

Your profile

A Master's degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, or a similar field is the academic requirement for this position. Alternatively, you have a Bachelor's degree or vocational training with many years of professional experience, ideally in an industrial environment.

In your scientific career, you have acquired specialized knowledge in the immunoanalysis of proteins (e.g. LBA, SPR )

Furthermore, you already bring 3–5 years of active LC-MS experience.

A very good comprehension of complex issues, structured thinking, and openness to new ideas and solutions.

Joy in working in a team, but also the ability and willingness to handle difficult tasks independently and responsibly under time pressure.

Perseverance in solving demanding challenges.

Additionally, you have very good English skills and experience in international teams.

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
