The Position

The ERP Solution Architect designs business-driven, standards-based, and future-ready enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions within our global SAP landscape. In this role, you will design cross-functional SAP solutions that meet product requirements, business priorities, and enterprise standards while managing non-functional requirements and evolving the architecture throughout the product life cycle. By solving complex technical integration problems, defining reference architectures for modern interfaces, and aligning with the broader architecture community for governance, you will ensure robust SAP Order-to-Cash implementations that deliver enhanced value to the organization.

Description of the area

The ERP Order-to-Cash (O2C) domain is the architectural backbone of our global sales, delivery, and financial processes. We operate at the intersection of deep SAP functional logic and modern enterprise integration. Our strategic goal is to seamlessly connect SAP core modules (SD, MM, FI) with other SAP/non-SAP and integration platforms, transitioning to robust, event-driven integration models and scalable interfaces to future-proof our global operations.

Job Responsibilities

Scope / (Content Leadership): Designs ERP solutions that meet product requirements, business priorities, and enterprise standards within the SAP O2C context. Manages Non-Functional Requirements (NFR), fitness functions, and the overarching architecture for cross-functional processes spanning Sales, Logistics, and Finance. Documents and evolves the architecture throughout the product life cycle, and aligns with the architecture community for proper governance.

Accountability/Problem Solving: Solves complex problems, taking a new perspective on existing solutions and exercising judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information. Maintains the vision, roadmap, and current landscape for the assigned ERP solution. Assesses and consults on impacts and dependencies of initiatives on capabilities, risk, and the application landscape. Creates conceptual and logical data models, taxonomies, and ontologies for the solution and its interfaces. Defines and drives reference architectures, needed NFRs, and ensures Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) are recorded. Drives external technology trends and assesses feasibility for the solution, including vendor assessments.

Stakeholder Management: Explains difficult or sensitive technical information and works collaboratively to build consensus among product teams, business stakeholders (Sales, Finance leaders), and technical peers. Acts as the authoritative bridge between deep SAP functional processes and solution architecture strategy.

Impact/Strategy: Develops and maintains the product's technology roadmap within the solution context. Provides technical oversight, guidance, and consultation on specific ERP technologies for product teams. Identifies opportunities to enhance value and business processes, improves existing solutions, manages technical debt, and researches, evaluates, pilots, and drives the adoption of new technologies.

Complexity / (Product Size): Operates within a defined single Solution Context, managing the architectural complexities of specific ERP applications or components.

Business / Technical ability: Possesses general and in-depth knowledge in SAP SD, cross-module integration (MM/FI), and enterprise integration patterns. Makes foundational contributions to architecture practices development and mentoring.

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
