Novartis is unable to offer relocation support: please only apply if accessible.The Data Management & Infrastructure Manager ensures the consistent application of data governance frameworks, standards, and lifecycle controls to enable trusted, compliant, and reusable data assets. This role serves as a key coordination point between business and technical teams, supporting governance, data quality, and performance reporting. The position drives alignment across stakeholders to ensure effective data usage and compliance across functions.

Major accountabilities:  Support implementation of layered data architecture principles, including bronze, silver, and gold Medallion layersEnsure data pipelines and curated datasets follow standards for quality, lineage, access control, reusability, and lifecycle management Support governance and documentation of Snowflake data assets, including tables, views, schemas, stages, and curated datasetsSupport documentation of data standards, business rules, and data architecture across ingestion, transformation, and aggregation processesEnsure alignment with global data governance frameworks and collaborate with internal and technical stakeholdersApply enterprise data governance standards across platforms, vendors, and use casesSupport role-based data access controls aligned with data privacy, compliance, and governance requirementsManage data lifecycle governance, including tracking ingestion, transformation, usage, and archival of datasetsMonitor data quality controls (e.g., completeness, accuracy, timeliness) and support issue resolutionAct as a coordination and escalation point for data governance issues across stakeholdersMaintain governance documentation, including data dictionaries, lineage, and usage guidelinesSupport reusability and scalability of datasets while preventing fragmentation across systemsCoordinate governance-related assessments and continuous improvement initiatives​Minimum Requirements:  Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms is essentialFamiliarity with Medallion architecture, including bronze, silver, and gold data layersUnderstanding of SQL, ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and cloud data warehouse conceptsPharmaceutical experience is highly desirableExperience documenting data flows, tables, views, stages, lineage, and data quality controlsBachelor’s degree in business, mathematics, statistics, analytics, engineering, or a related technical fieldExperience in data governance, data management, analytics enablement, or related rolesUnderstanding of data governance concepts, including ownership, stewardship, and lifecycle managementExperience working with enterprise data platforms or analytics ecosystemsStrong stakeholder communication and collaboration skillsAbility to document and manage data definitions, lineage, and governance standardsFamiliarity with compliance and governance requirements in regulated environmentsStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsCommitment to Diversity and InclusionNovartis is committed to building an outstanding, inclusive work environment and diverse teams representative of the patients and communities we serve.Why Novartis: Helping people with disease and their families takes more than innovative science.
