About this opportunity

The Country Brand Manager (CBM), Oncology, is responsible for driving brand growth through strong execution of the commercial strategy, grounded in clear prioritization of customer segments, patient needs, and market opportunities. The CBM develops the mindset and capabilities of a brand general manager, demonstrating ownership of the brand growth agenda, clarity on where to play and how to win, and the ability to identify opportunities and challenges and adapt with agility.

Key Capabilities

1. Oncology Market & Business Acumen

A strong CBM demonstrates a deep understanding of:

The oncology disease landscape, patient journey, treatment pathways, and unmet medical needs across relevant tumor types.

Healthcare ecosystem dynamics, including oncologists, multidisciplinary care teams, hospitals, treatment centers, payers, and patient advocacy groups.

Competitive environment, emerging clinical data, treatment guidelines, and evolving standards of care.

Market access considerations, reimbursement pathways, and affordability drivers that influence patient access and uptake.

The broader oncology portfolio and strategic priorities to identify growth opportunities and optimize patient impact.

The CBM can clearly articulate where to play and how to win beyond promotional activities alone.

2. Brand Ownership & Growth Plan Accountability

The CBM takes ownership of the brand strategy and growth agenda:

Develops and champions prioritized growth opportunities based on customer insights, market dynamics, and strategic business objectives.

Aligns internal stakeholders across Medical, Access, Sales, and other functions around brand priorities and execution plans.

Contributes to OP/LE planning and monitors brand performance against business objectives.

Connects brand priorities to broader organizational and therapeutic area strategies.

3. Patient & Customer Journey Understanding

The CBM develops a deep understanding of the oncology treatment journey and stakeholder decision-making process:

Maps key touchpoints across the patient and healthcare provider journey.

Identifies barriers and opportunities impacting diagnosis, treatment initiation, access, adherence, and patient outcomes.

Designs customer-centric engagement strategies leveraging scientific education, disease awareness, patient support, and omnichannel approaches.

Uses data and insights to continuously optimize customer experiences and engagement programs.

4. Diagnosis & Execution Agility

A strong CBM proactively identifies opportunities and addresses challenges by:

Analyzing business performance, market trends, customer insights, and competitive intelligence.

Identifying gaps and recommending strategic adjustments when performance objectives are not being achieved.

Executing course corrections with agility while maintaining focus on long-term brand objectives.

Applying learnings from execution to continuously improve future performance.

5. Field Force Collaboration & Execution

Works closely with the sales organization to translate strategy into execution:

Develops clear customer engagement strategies, messaging platforms, and targeting approaches.

Provides effective tools and materials that enable impactful customer interactions.

Builds strong partnerships and credibility with the field force.

Ensures alignment between brand strategy and field execution.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Engages cross-functional stakeholders as collaborative partners:

Partners with Medical Affairs to support scientific exchange, evidence generation, and KOL engagement.

Collaborates with Market Access teams to support patient access and reimbursement objectives.

Works effectively with Regulatory, Legal, Finance, Commercial Excellence, and other stakeholders to drive execution excellence.

Communicates effectively across all organizational levels.

7. Portfolio Awareness

Understands how the brand contributes to the broader Oncology portfolio and organizational strategy:

Identifies opportunities for portfolio synergies and integrated customer engagement.

Aligns brand activities with therapeutic area priorities and long-term business objectives.

8. Marketing Fundamentals & EMPOWER Framework

The CBM applies core marketing disciplines rigorously and consistently:

Leverages the EMPOWER framework as the foundation for strategic brand planning and decision-making.

Demonstrates strong capabilities in segmentation, targeting, positioning, customer engagement, and omnichannel execution.

Translates insights into actionable strategies that drive measurable business outcomes.

Develops clear and aligned brand plans that cross-functional teams can execute effectively.

9. AI Fluency & Learning Agility

The CBM embraces new ways of working and continuously evolves:

Demonstrates AI fluency by actively leveraging AI-powered tools to enhance marketing effectiveness, decision-making, and execution speed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Business, Marketing, or a related field.

3–5 years of pharmaceutical commercial, marketing, or related experience; oncology experience preferred.

Strong understanding of oncology healthcare ecosystems, customer engagement, and brand strategy development.

Analytical mindset with experience interpreting business data, market research, customer insights, and performance metrics.

Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Excellent communication, presentation, and project management capabilities.

Demonstrated learning agility, adaptability, and willingness to embrace AI-enabled ways of working.

Self-driven and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.

Work Location Assignment: Hybrid
