The Opportunity

Are you ready to optimize the supply networks that make life-saving diagnostics possible? As our Sourcing Manager in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, you will be a vital part of our APAC sourcing operations. In this high-impact role, you will execute end-to-end, medium- to high-complexity sourcing projects while acting as a key mechanism for the Asia Sourcing Office - identifying regional suppliers, performing initial due diligence, and translating transactional requests into strategic, value-add solutions.

Reporting Line: Reports directly to the Asia Sourcing Office Lead, and is part of the Procurement Center of Excellence (CoE).

Wider team and stakeholders: Partners with DOP Category, DOP Delivery, RSS Demand to Pay, regional operations stakeholders, and external suppliers to resolve administrative bottlenecks and inform future strategies.

Role Type: An Individual Contributor role focused on end-to-end sourcing execution, master data management, and value creation.

Impact: You drive global sourcing excellence, financial value, and compliance across the APAC footprint. Specifically, you are accountable for:

Asia Supplier Discovery: Identifying potential suppliers across Asia, executing initial due diligence, and conducting targeted regional benchmarking.

Sourcing Execution: Compliantly executing regional sourcing projects, standard processes (RfIs, RfQs, RfPs), and eSourcing tools for on-market products and New Product Introductions (NPI).

Demand Aggregation: Analyzing site user requirements, aggregating regional demand to maximize leverage, and escalating non-standard requests to Category Management.

Project & Risk Management: Developing comprehensive project plans (timelines, milestones, resources) and proactively identifying and mitigating risks to objectives.

Contract Lifecycle: Setting up template-based contracts (such as CDAs and SOWs) and accurately managing their lifecycle repository, renewals, and potential contractual improvements.

Operational Excellence: Utilizing enterprise tools (SAP, myBuy) and master data management to simplify workflows and ensure strict compliance with global procurement policies.

Metrics & CSR: Tracking operational targets and customer service metrics (such as cycle times and compliance) while championing supplier diversity, sustainability, and ethical practices.

Collaboration & Exposure: Partnering with support functions (like Accounts Payable) to clear administrative bottlenecks and presenting regular KPI and project updates to the Sourcing Lead and regional stakeholders.

Who you are

We strive to keep our standards high and look for analytical problem-solvers with a strong customer-service focus.

Education: University degree (Business/Life Sciences preferred) is required; an MBA or CIPS certification is highly desirable.

Experience: 3–5+ years in procurement or sourcing, specializing in tactical sourcing (spot buying), contract management, and contributing to cost-reduction initiatives.

Market Expertise: Strong regional sourcing and NPI experience across complex direct categories (such as Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) & e-components, Plastics & Packaging, or Biologicals & Chemicals).

AI & Digitalization: Advanced knowledge in AI application and a strong affinity to explore AI-driven solutions broadly, particularly regarding the digital transformation of operations (Digital 2.0 / Industry 4.0).

Systems & Analytics: Strong experience with Business Enterprise Systems (specifically SAP), myBuy, Procure-to-Pay (P2P) workflows, eSourcing/eAuction platforms, master data management, and BI tools like Tableau and ThoughtSpot.

Mindset & Soft Skills: A highly analytical thinker with a "process-first" mindset focused on removing friction from the sourcing cycle, managing project timelines, and navigating conflicting priorities.

Languages: Business-level fluency in English is required; Chinese language skills are a strong asset.

Ready for the next step? We look forward to hearing from you.

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
