Lead the design, engineering, and governance of a secure, cloud-native AI platform on AWS, enabling scalable GenAI and machine learning services across the enterprise. Drive the integration of AWS AI services, platform automation APIs, and self-service capabilities to accelerate AI solution delivery and operational efficiency. Partner with security, compliance, and cross-functional teams to ensure platform reliability, governance, and successful adoption while providing technical leadership for complex production environments
Major Accountabilities:Lead AWS Cloud-Native Platform Engineering: Design, build, and enhance cloud-native platform capabilities on AWS, including networking architectures, service integrations, and scalable platform components.Define Secure AI/GenAI Access Frameworks: Establish secure access patterns, authentication mechanisms, and security boundaries for AI and GenAI workloads across the platform.Manage AWS Security and Governance Controls: Develop and maintain IAM policies, Service Control Policies (SCPs), role-based access models, and enterprise security guardrails.Enable AWS AI and GenAI Services: Architect and integrate AWS Bedrock, Bedrock Agent Core, Textract, Comprehend, Transcribe, and Translate services to support enterprise AI use cases and workflows.Develop Platform Automation and Self-Service APIs: Design and maintain scalable APIs that enable automated provisioning, lifecycle management, and operational governance of AI/ML resources.Standardize AI Platform Operations: Provide reusable interfaces and frameworks for model deployment, inference, monitoring, platform operations, and integration with CI/CD pipelines, internal tools, and AI agents.Ensure Security, Compliance, and Risk Alignment: Partner with security, risk, and compliance teams to ensure platform adherence to governance, validation, regulatory, and security standards.Provide Technical Leadership and Operational Support: Create technical documentation, reference architectures, and onboarding materials while serving as the escalation point for complex platform issues, cross-functional dependencies, and critical production incidents.Minimum RequirementsBachelor’s / Master’s degree in related fieldMinimum 8 years of overall experience and solid understanding of AWS, GenAI fundamentals (LLMs, RAG, prompting) with hands-on experience in AI/LCNC tools.Proven ability to deliver end-to-end AI use cases (PoC to MVP) in enterprise environments.Capability to translate business needs into scalable, compliant technical solutions.Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills across business and technical teams.Working knowledge of cloud platforms and adherence to security, governance, and compliance standards.Why Novartis?Our purpose is to reimagine medicine to improve and extend people’s lives and our vision is to become the most valued and trusted medicines company in the world.
