The Position
As part of the Roche Cloud Platform (RCP) AWS team, we provide the enterprise cloud foundation that empowers Roche's cutting-edge business units to innovate safely, efficiently, and at scale.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Customer Integration Engineer, you will serve as the strategic bridge between Roche’s advanced Business Units (e.g., gRED/pRED Computational Science CoE) and our enterprise AWS Cloud Platform. You will act as the primary partner to translate business pain points into platform features, design integration patterns, and ensure internal teams maximize the platform's potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Integration & Best Practices: Lead end-to-end cloud integration for dedicated Business Units (BUs), serving as the primary "how-to" platform expert and defining team-wide integration patterns.
Problem Solving & Continuity: Resolve highly ambiguous technical problems without standard pre-existing tools. Manage follow-the-sun production incidents handed off from alternate time zones.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Partner directly with BU leadership and senior technical stakeholders. Coordinate with our Managed Service Provider (MSP) to drive incident resolution and platform satisfaction.
Platform Strategy: Anticipate business shifts to influence the technical evolution and feature roadmap of the enterprise cloud platform.
Who You Are:
Experience: Extensive background designing and implementing enterprise cloud-based solutions, using automation and cloud-native patterns to solve high-impact architectural challenges.
AWS Platform Mastery: Deep proficiency in multi-tenant AWS environments, landing zone deployment, account provisioning, security guardrails, and feature exposure.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Advanced expertise in Terraform or AWS CDK, focusing on building sophisticated, reusable modules to minimize code duplication.
Cloud Architecture: Solid understanding of AWS IAM (Permission sets, boundaries, Identity Center) and cloud networking (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Route53 profiles).
DevOps & Development: Proficient with GitLab/GitHub, standard SDLC, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting (Python/Bash) with testing frameworks like Pytest.
Leadership: Proven ability to mentor engineers, foster technical curiosity , and collaborate across geo-distributed teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Architectural Frameworks: Proven execution using the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
DevOps Innovation: Experience integrating AI agents or LLM-based tools to optimize DevOps workflows, documentation, or incident analysis.
Operations & Agile: Experience with ITSM processes, blameless postmortems, and Agile methodologies (SAFe).

Similar opportunities
The closest matches from our peer group, ranked by how similar they are, not how well you'd qualify for them -- treat this as market context, not a guaranteed shortlist; a weak match is labeled as one below.
How we calculate "similar"
No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.
Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.
0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
