Help us get ahead of disease together with our Lab Productivity and Performance Internship, 2027: 

Education required: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university, preferably in Engineering discipline with a focus in Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy or Chemistry

Other requirements: Must be enrolled at a SG university for the duration of your internship and doing a full-time credit-bearing internship

Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English

Internship period: January to June 2027

What will you do?

Support lab productivity and efficiency through waste removal, process flow review, digital application of lean tools, and setting up a Kanban/inventory control system for consumables and reagents. Identify opportunities to embed green procurement practices.

Map current lab process flows, identify waste (NVA steps, delays, handoffs) and propose value stream improvements (for example in Chemist lab and Micro lab)

Pilot and configure an online application (e.g.,Migratation of lab system and moving to digital scheduling tool) to capture analytical data and standard work

Working with Green Lab team to promote Green Initiatives for the QC laboratory and office and to recommend greener alternatives (reusable items, low-waste packaging, consolidated suppliers)

Support other lab projects

What will you learn?

Execute lean lab identified projects (lab rejuvenation, micro lab standard work, reduced testing, online testing program etc.) to achieve productivity gain

Exposure to supporting process map and 3 prioritized Kaizen opportunities

Working prototype of online tracking application and user guide
