As a Clinical Programmer - Expert at Novartis, you will play a pivotal role in advancing Risk-Based Quality Management (RbQM) and our Central Monitoring platform. You will be responsible for data-driven clinical operations through advanced analytics, intelligent reporting, and scalable technology solutions. Working alongside cross-functional experts, you will help shape the future of clinical data operations by delivering meaningful insights, driving operational excellence, and enabling smarter decisions across global clinical studies.

Key Responsibilities Configure Central Monitoring Platform outputs using SAS programming and clinical data standardsDevelop analytics dashboards, reports, data pipelines, and monitoring outputs for clinical operationsTranslate business needs into practical, scalable technical solutions that improve user experienceExtract, clean, merge, subset, and derive clinical and operational datasetsPartner with study teams, statisticians, and Central Monitoring colleagues to clarify output requirementsExecute quality checks and validation routines to ensure complete, accurate monitoring dataSupport existing dashboards, reports, and pipelines through scheduled refreshes and performance monitoringCoach associate programmers, share technical knowledge, and contribute to reusable programming standardsEssential Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related fieldIdeally 6–7 years of experience in clinical programming, clinical data analytics, with good knowledge in Risk-Based Quality Management. Expertise in RBQM KRI, QTL programming and analysis, SAS/R programming, project management exposure and knowledge of CluePoints like central monitoring platform is preferredAdvanced Clinical programming expertise, including data extraction, transformation, derivation, and reportingClinical data analytics, reporting, RbQM, or technology implementation proven track on complex integrations and BI at scaleWorking knowledge of SAS, AI/ML, R/Python/SQL; ability to write clean, simple code and queriesFamiliarity with BI tools (Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau) for standard visualizationsStrong understanding of clinical trial data structures and clinical operations processesUse of AI tools for processes, automation and real-time data analyticsExperience developing Key Risk Indicators, Quality Tolerance Limits, analytics outputs, or monitoring reportsWorking knowledge of Risk-Based Quality Management principles and cross-functional collaboration within clinical development environmentsDesirable Requirements Experience working with CluePoints monitoring platform Understanding of Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium standards, including Study Data Tabulation Model (SDTM and Analysis Data Model (ADaM)Benefits & Rewards At Novartis, we’re committed to reimagining medicine together - and rewarding the people who make it happen.  Expected Annual Base Salary Range for role: € 36,100.00 - 67,100.00The base salary offered is determined based on gender-neutral objectives, such as relevant skills, competencies and experience in accordance with the Novartis pay setting policy and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for a performance-based bonus depending on certain performance parameters.  The rewards of being part of our team go far beyond base pay and incentives.
