Are you passionate about driving operational excellence while collaborating with highly skilled colleagues across a global organisation? If so, we invite you to apply for the position as Clinical Project Lead (CPL) in the Diabetes and Obesity Clinical Operations area and play a key role in delivering innovative clinical development programmes from study start-up through completion.

Your new role

As a Clinical Project Lead (CPL), you will take on a senior role with extensive responsibilities, where you will assume accountability for end-to-end planning, execution, and completion of global trials in Novo Nordisk.

Working at the intersection of science, strategy, and operations, you will translate clinical objectives into operational excellence while ensuring compliance, quality, and successful trial outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading global clinical trials with full accountability for timelines, budget, risk management, and delivery of key trial milestones.

Driving cross-functional collaboration across trial squads, clinical operations teams, and global stakeholders to ensure efficient trial execution.

Lead or provide input to protocol outline and protocol development activities, ensuring timely and appropriate operational input throughout study planning.

Overseeing trial start-up activities, vendor selection, country allocation strategies, and inspection readiness while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Managing risks, resolving complex operational challenges, and ensuring clear communication with both internal and external stakeholders.

You will act as a central project leader, creating an inspiring and collaborative environment while maintaining a strong focus on patient needs, operational feasibility, and business priorities. The role offers broad exposure across the clinical development value chain and the opportunity to influence innovative approaches to trial execution.

Your skills and qualifications

To succeed in this role, you need in-depth knowledge about clinical trial methodology as well as extensive clinical project management experience. Effective communication and leadership skills are essential, with a demonstrated ability to navigate a complex stakeholder landscape while impacting the project strategy as well as execution and improvement of core clinical processes.

We are looking for candidates who have:

An MSc in Natural or Health Sciences with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a BSc combined with at least 7 years of relevant clinical development experience.

Significant experience leading and managing clinical trials, including planning, execution, and close-out activities.

Demonstrated project management expertise and experience working in complex cross-functional environments.

Strong communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust across cultures and organisational levels.

A proactive mindset, strong analytical capabilities, and a solid understanding of clinical trial methodologies and regulatory requirements. You work independently with minimal guidance and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities, sharing knowledge and insights with your colleagues.

Broad experience with both Clinical Pharmacology and Phase 2-4 and global trial operations will be considered a strong advantage. Fluency in written and spoken English is required.

Your new department

You will join a highly engaged Clinical Operations organisation within Novo Nordisk's global clinical development area. The area is responsible for planning and delivering clinical trials across diabetes and obesity across phase 1-4 while partnering closely with project teams, medical specialists, regulatory experts, clinical development centres, and external partners worldwide. How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
