Position Overview

The AI Transformation Strategy & Operation Lead is a senior leadership role responsible for establishing, strategy governing, and orchestrating Pfizer China’s portfolio of AI-driven transformation initiatives within the GTM Transformation Team. Reporting directly to the GTM Transformation Lead, this role serves as the strategic nerve center for all AI transformation programs, ensuring governance rigor, cross-functional alignment, delivery excellence, and measurable business impact. The incumbent will work at the intersection of enterprise strategy, artificial intelligence, and commercial operations, accelerating Pfizer China’s position as a leader in AI-enabled healthcare transformation.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Framework

Establish and maintain a comprehensive AI transformation strategy & governance framework, including standards, methodologies, templates, and processes that ensure consistency, quality, and auditability across all transformation programs.

Define and operationalize end-to-end program lifecycle management practices, from initiative intake and scoping through execution, launch, and value realization.

Portfolio Management

Oversee and manage the AI transformation project portfolio, ensuring initiatives are strategically prioritized, resourced, and tracked against defined OKRs and KPIs aligned with Pfizer China’s GTM transformation strategy.

Maintain a consolidated portfolio view, identifying interdependencies, sequencing initiatives, and flagging bottlenecks or risks to ensure cohesive, on-schedule delivery.

Senior Stakeholder Management

Serve as the primary liaison between the GTM Transformation Team and senior leadership, BU leads, digital, CEI, and external partners, ensuring transparent communication, alignment, and sustained executive sponsorship.

Facilitate steering committee meetings, governance forums, and cross-functional alignment sessions, driving accountability and decision-making efficiency at all levels.

Transformation Roadmap

Develop and maintain the integrated AI transformation roadmap, incorporating strategic priorities, resource constraints, and emerging opportunities to guide multi-year transformation execution.

Continuously refresh the roadmap in response to business developments, regulatory changes, and technology advancements in the AI landscape.

Performance Reporting

Design and deliver executive-level dashboards, progress reports, and strategic updates that communicate transformation milestones, risks, and business value realization to senior leadership and the Board.

Establish clear metrics and success criteria for all transformation programs, enabling data-driven portfolio decisions and course corrections.

Resource & Budget Governance

Optimize resource allocation across the transformation portfolio, managing workforce planning, vendor engagement, and budget deployment to maximize program impact.

Partner with Finance to manage transformation budgets, track spend against plan, and develop business cases for new investment decisions.

Risk & Issue Management

Proactively identify, assess, escalate, and mitigate risks and issues across transformation programs, maintaining a live risk register and proposing resolution pathways in a timely manner.

Foster a risk-aware culture within the transformation team, embedding structured risk reviews into governance cadences.

Change Management & AI Culture

Drive organizational change management initiatives that foster a culture of AI innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning within the GTM Transformation Team and across commercial functions.

Develop and execute communication and engagement plans that build AI literacy, adoption readiness, and transformation momentum across the organization.

Compliance & Standards

Ensure all transformation initiatives comply with Pfizer’s global standards, data privacy regulations (including PIPL), and local regulatory requirements.

Maintain the highest standards of ethics, professional conduct, and risk management to safeguard Pfizer’s reputation and regulatory standing.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or above in Business Administration, Management, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.

Minimum 10 years of professional experience in program/portfolio management, product owner and leadership, strategy consulting, or enterprise transformation roles within multinational or highly regulated environments.

Proven track record of establishing and leading enterprise-level program functions or transformation offices, with demonstrated ability to govern large, complex, cross-functional programs from inception to value realization.

Strong understanding of AI technologies, digital transformation methodologies, and their commercial applications in the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector.

Demonstrated experience working directly with senior leadership and C-suite stakeholders; excellent executive communication, influencing, and facilitation skills.

Expertise in change management frameworks and organizational development, with a track record of driving successful adoption of complex transformations.

Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a structured, data-driven approach to portfolio decision-making.

PMP, PgMP, Agile/SAFe, or equivalent program management certification preferred.

Fluency in both English and Mandarin (written and spoken) required.

Experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences industry is highly desirable.
