Job Description
Role Overview
The Senior Therapeutic Specialist HIV serves as a highly experienced commercial, scientific, and marketing partner responsible for driving territory performance through deep therapeutic expertise, strong stakeholder engagement, customer-centric brand activation, and strategic execution.
The role combines advanced pharmaceutical sales leadership, clinical understanding, and cross-functional collaboration mainly with marketing to translate brand strategy into local execution, strengthen customer engagement, support campaign effectiveness, and ensure optimal use of company products while achieving business objectives in highly competitive markets.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Territory Leadership
Achieve coverage, frequency, and sales targets within the assigned territory
Develop and execute territory business plans, defining priorities, customer segments, and actions required to meet objectives while aligning local execution with brand and marketing strategy
Monitor sales performance, analyze market data, and implement corrective action plans where necessary
Manage territory budgets, including customer engagements, speaker programs, and external activities
Organize and execute market initiatives, promotional campaigns, and customer engagement activities across relevant channels, ensuring strong follow-through and measurable impact
Scientific & Product Expertise
Demonstrate deep understanding of product protocols, including clinical value, cost-benefit considerations, dosing, duration, and treatment positioning
Credibly discuss scientific data with healthcare professionals and key stakeholders
Co-operate with physicians, healthcare providers, and community stakeholders on appropriate product use
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, competitive landscape, and evolving clinical practices
Stakeholder Engagement & Influence
Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key customers, accounts, and thought leaders
Effectively network within the medical community to expand product adoption
Collaborate closely with Medical Science Liaisons, Marketing and other internal teams to co-create account plans, adapt messaging, and optimize campaign execution based on field insights
Represent the company at professional congresses, educational events, and industry meetings
Partner with external organizations where co-promotion or collaboration opportunities exist
Proactively identify market opportunities, customer needs, competitive risks, and growth levers, translating field observations into actionable recommendations
Communicate insights and recommendations effectively to sales and marketing leadership
Contribute to market and brand strategy through interpretation of sales analytics, customer insights, competitive intelligence, and feedback from field execution
Operational Excellence & Compliance
Complete all administrative responsibilities accurately and on time (CRM updates, expenses, reporting)
Operate in full compliance with company policies and all applicable regulatory requirements governingpharmaceutical promotion and information dissemination
Maintain strong understanding of internal organizational processes and decision-making networks to effectively execute initiatives
Candidate Profile Experience & Education
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent required
● Minimum 6-8 years of pharmaceutical or healthcare sales experience
Preferred 4 years in specialty sales or relevant therapeutic area
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Therapeutic Specialist/Key Account Manager preferred
Preferred if country-specific pharmaceutical sales certifications available but not essential

Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with proven ability to partner effectively with Marketing, Medical, and other Sales teams
