The Position

The opportunity

In this specific position as a Senior / Principal Associate in "Pharmaceutical Development (PTDP)", you will be part of the PTD Europe Joint Particle Lab working closely with the Department "Analytical Development and Quality Control Biotech Europe (PTDA)". The Joint Particle Lab is the Center of Excellence (CoE) responsible for the extended characterization and identification of particles in parenteral dosage forms. You will work hands-on in the laboratory and closely with cross-functional project teams.

 Your major responsibilities in this position are:

Planning, execution and documentation of particle characterization experiments for biotechnological and synthetic molecule drug products and their parenteral dosage forms

Engage with colleagues from Pharmaceutical and analytical development to discuss sample requests and results

Conducting efficient and timely lab work according to established procedures, results interpretation, and high-quality documentation to support particle characterization or root cause investigations

Evaluation, introduction, and further development of new technologies/methods for particle characterization/identification, and active contribution to innovation projects in this area

Support planning and monitoring of work packages

Continuous improvement of general processes, procedures, SOPs, work instructions and E2E particle workflow

Who You are:

You are a motivated candidate with excellent scientific, communication and organizational skills, fully committed to team effort but able to work in an independent fashion. You bring an  innovation mindset and the drive to advance laboratory technologies and methods. For this position you bring the following qualifications:

BSc/MSc in a life science discipline (e.g. biochemistry, biology, pharmacy, chemistry or equivalent) or vocational scientific qualifications (e.g. apprenticeship as a Chemical or  Biological Laboratory Technician, Pharmaceutical Technical Assistant)

Proven professional experience in the field of biotherapeutics, synthetic parenteral molecules

You enjoy the analytical development, troubleshooting and technology

Profound theoretical and practical experience in particle analysis and identification (spectroscopy, experience with Raman microscopy is a plus)

A demonstrated ability and mindset to drive innovation and introduce new technologies/methods

Experience in a GMP environment is a plus

Proven ability to ensure FAIR data and ALCOA+ principles

You are dynamic, proactive, and have an excellent team spirit

Good oral and written communication skills in English. German is a plus

Good IT skills (including word processing (MS Word/gDoc) and spreadsheets (MS Excel/gSheet)); experience with more advanced software (e.g. for data visualization, statistical analysis) is a plus

This position is fixed-term for 2 years.
