Novartis is unable to offer relocation support: please only apply if accessible.   Key Responsibilities Develop innovative artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions to support critical scientific decision-making. Build scalable data pipelines that enable efficient analysis, model development, and insight generation. Apply advanced analytical methods to solve complex research and business challenges. Integrate diverse datasets to uncover meaningful patterns and actionable opportunities. Create predictive models that help identify risks and support informed decision-making. Partner with cross-functional experts to advance project goals and drive innovation. Ensure high standards of model quality, validation, reproducibility, and performance. Communicate complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Essential Requirements Doctorate degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field. Experience working with large and complex scientific, healthcare, or research datasets. Strong programming skills using Python or a comparable programming language. Experience building and deploying end-to-end data science and machine learning solutions. Strong understanding of statistics, predictive modelling, validation techniques, and performance evaluation. Experience working with databases and modern data processing technologies. Excellent collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills within multidisciplinary environments. Desirable Requirements Experience in drug discovery, toxicology, predictive safety, or pharmacology. Experience with generative artificial intelligence, explainable artificial intelligence, graph machine learning or agentic workflows  **Appointment level Senior Expert I / Senior Expert II will be determined based on the successful candidate's experience and qualifications. Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion Novartis is committed to building an outstanding, inclusive work environment and diverse teams representative of the patients and communities we serve. Equal Opportunity Employment Novartis provides equal employment opportunities to all qualified individuals. US-based eligible employees receive health, life and disability benefits, a 401(k) plan with company contribution and match, wellbeing and financial benefits, and generous paid time off including vacation, personal days, holidays and other leave benefits.
