AbbVie is a community of knowledgeable people. You bring your own valuable contribution to it and get the opportunity to learn from other top professionals. Our communal corporate culture accepts people as individuals and supports everyone's personal development.
Our success as a work community is evidenced by our ranking among the best year after year in the Great Place to Work survey.
We are strengthening our Medical team and we are now looking for a Medical Advisor, Neurology.
We are seeking a customer-oriented Medical Advisor with strong interpersonal skills and solid scientific expertise, preferably in Neuroscience.
In this role, you will provide medical and scientific support to both internal and external stakeholders by delivering accurate, up-to-date medical information and expert insight. You will stay current on the latest developments in neurology through scientific literature, congresses, and seminars, and build strong relationships with key experts in the neurology therapy area in Finland.
You will work closely with AbbVie colleagues, as well as healthcare professionals and other stakeholders, to help improve the standard of care within your therapy area. The role requires a strong understanding of modern Medical Affairs and a proactive mindset toward innovation, collaboration, and continuous professional development in an evolving environment.
You will collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues across Medical Affairs, Sales and Marketing, and Market Access, and report to the Head of Medical Affairs in Specialty Care.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, we expect you to have experience in the pharmaceutical industry, as well as knowledge of the Finnish healthcare environment. The position requires a higher education degree in medicine, life sciences, or another relevant field, along with a strong scientific orientation. You may be a medical doctor, pharmacist, or life sciences expert. Further scientific training is an advantage.
Experience in migraine or other neurological diseases will be considered an asset. A positive and independent attitude, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to work effectively in a matrix organization are important.
You should be able to understand and apply information from scientific research articles and communicate clearly in both Finnish and English. We also value your interest in working in a commercial environment and in making a meaningful impact on patient care in collaboration with experts in the field. You thrive when facing new opportunities.
We additionally value understanding of the Finnish healthcare system and registry-based research. AbbVie offers a supportive and inspiring work environment, expertise and experience in conducting RWE studies, and the opportunity to contribute research data on Finnish patients and treatment practices in neurology.
What we offer
We offer an interesting role where you can make an impact in a respected international company. You will have the support of experienced colleagues and a dynamic work community. We encourage learning and offer excellent opportunities for your professional development.

Similar opportunities
The closest matches from our peer group, ranked by how similar they are, not how well you'd qualify for them -- treat this as market context, not a guaranteed shortlist; a weak match is labeled as one below.
How we calculate "similar"
No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.
Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.
0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
