Head of Global Product Supply Planning

Accountabilities :

Part of a multinational and multicultural organization that is committed to professional development and reporting within the Global Supply Chain Organization, the Senior Manager, Head of Global Supply Planning is accountable for delivering strong and agile leadership to a team of Sr. Associates and Managers who manage Global Supply Chain Planning, responsible for the orchestration of end-to-end global Supply Chain strategies and ensure efficient and reliable patient supply.

Responsibilities :

Leads a team of Manager & Sr. Associates Global Product Supply Chain that are responsible for orchestrating end-to-end global supply plans and strategies that ensure efficient and reliable patient supply.

Primary focus is to provide thought leadership in orchestrating the Long Range Scenarios and Monthly Planning cycles, make decisions on business-critical Life cycle management and implementation of product strategies.

Manage the consolidation of product supply risk for Operations Supply Governance

Responsible to lead, coordinate and present complex multi-faceted Product & Network Supply Chain scenario analyses for Senior and Executive Management decision making

Accountable for monitoring the operational and tactical commercial supply planning performance, using appropriate key performance indicators.

Lead and support special initiatives within the Global Supply Chain, including Automation and AI transformation initiatives .

Drive recruitment, hiring and attrition management of the Global Product Supply Chain Planning team.

Role Model and enable meaningful business results through staff development, training, coaching and team vision with a people centered leadership style to adapt, integrate, inspire and accelerate business value to Amgen.

Manage, monitor, and modify staff resource model to ensure alignment to latest workload drivers; ensure staffing requirements are understood and communicated.

Manage staff allocation of products (pipeline and inline) within Amgen’s asset portfolio to ensure workload balance.

Accountable to deliver timely on the following Business Support Processes:

Temperature Excursion Forms

Quarterly Tax Reporting

Annual Working Cell Bank Long Range Plan

Product Master Data Integrity

Interfaces across functions including Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, Regulatory, and Quality at various level of detail, with the ability to summarize and highlight issues to Executive Management.

Shares and develops best practices across the Global Supply Chain network through the support of network initiatives to drive improvements in Supply Chain processes, systems, and procedures.

Qualifications:

The knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of this position are typically acquired through the following combination of education, experience, or the equivalent

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum of 12-17 years of experience required over all

Doctorate degree and 2 years of directly related experience OR

Master’s degree and 4 years of directly related experience OR

Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of directly related experience OR

Associate’s degree and 10 years of directly related experience OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of directly related experience

Preferred Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge and experience in the application of advanced planning techniques as it relates to demand and supply planning, financials, and network planning. They should have outstanding communication capabilities and must be comfortable and confident dealing with all levels of management within the organization.

Experience with supervising/leading direct report

7 plus years of experience in global pharmaceutical, biotech or similar industry

Solid understanding of demand/supply planning, Supply Chain principles, and logistics

Detail oriented with strong business analytical skills and company wide knowledge

Process oriented  mindset with willingness to call out gaps and seek solutions

Perseverance and independent problem-solving skills

Knowledge and understanding of Financial analysis on COGM, COGS and NPV

Able to communicate across a wide range of staff levels and develop effective relationships in a matrix organization

Ability to distill complex information into a logical, concise message for senior management

Applies continuous improvement principles when designing, implementing and sustaining Supply Chain solutions and projects

Up to 25% domestic and international travel

Attends professional conferences to maintain supply chain expertise

Displays fortitude and perseverance when receiving constructive feedback

Distills complex information into a logical, concise message for leadership

Communicates effectively with leadership on a prepared and ad hoc basis

Writes, reviews, and edits complex proposals for high-level decision makers

Leads decision making on supply chain issues affecting the department

Anticipates network problems and partners to develop practical solutions

Takes calculated risks with expected positive outcomes

Adjusts priorities quickly as situations change

Builds cross-functional teams leveraging diverse capabilities of staff

Promotes team cohesiveness and camaraderie

Fosters trust by admitting own shortcomings and addressing them

Works with business partners to build a vision, strategy, and goals

Effectively facilitates conflict resolution among team members

Coaches, mentors and provides supply chain expertise to colleagues
