Job Description

We are seeking an experienced  Director, Regional Supply Chain  to oversee and optimize the commercial supply chain for a region with a primary focus on  demand planning regional S&OP leadership , and  supply issue escalation management . This role supports the commercial supply of both  small molecule  and  biologic  products, ensuring product availability, minimizing risk of stockouts, and driving alignment between market demand and supply capabilities.

This position reports to the  Executive Director, Head of Regional Commercial Supply Chain , and collaborates with global supply chain leadership and peer regional directors to align regional performance with global objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Commercial Demand Planning

Lead the demand planning process for all commercial products in the region, collaborating closely with Global Trade Operations, Commercial, Finance, and Supply Planning teams.

Ensure that demand forecasts are accurate, data-driven, and account for market trends, promotional activity, product launches, and support product life-cycle management.

Monitor consumption trends, analyze variances, and proactively adjust forecasts to support uninterrupted product supply.

2. Regional S&OP Leadership

Own and facilitate the regional Commercial S&OP process, ensuring consensus on demand, visibility into supply constraints, and alignment on mitigation plans.

Present demand and supply outlooks to executive stakeholders and contribute regional input into the global S&OP cycle.

Ensure that S&OP decisions are data-supported and linked to commercial objectives such as service level targets and revenue goals.

3. Supply Escalation Management

Act as the regional point of contact for commercial supply issues and escalations, including backorders, allocation decisions, and stock imbalances.

Coordinate with Global Commercial Supply Chain product leads across each therapeutic area to identify root causes and resolve issues quickly.

Maintain proactive communication with Commercial teams regarding supply risk, mitigation plans, and recovery timelines.

4. Stakeholder & Cross-functional Collaboration

Serve as the primary supply chain liaison for Commercial, Customer Service, and Regional Leadership teams.

Partner with Regulatory, Quality, and Finance functions to ensure compliant and cost-effective product distribution across the region.

Support regional commercial launches and market expansions from a supply planning and readiness standpoint.

5. Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

Track and report key commercial supply chain KPIs, including forecast accuracy, OTIF (on-time in-full), backorder levels, and inventory health.

Identify process gaps or inefficiencies and lead regional implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.

Contribute to global process harmonization efforts and represent the region in system or process upgrades (e.g., demand planning tools, ERP improvements).

 

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Life Sciences, or related field required.

MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.

APICS/CSCP or similar supply chain certification is an asset.

Experience:

Extensive supply chain experience, with at least solid experience in commercial supply chain roles within preferably biopharma or life sciences.

Strong expertise in demand planning, S&OP leadership, and supply issue resolution in a commercial context.

Experience working with both small molecule and biologic commercial products.

Prior leadership experience in a regional or matrixed environment is strongly preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong analytical and planning capabilities, with a focus on forecast accuracy and supply continuity.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience presenting to senior commercial leadership.

Deep understanding of commercial supply chain drivers in regulated environments.

Proficient in planning systems (e.g., SAP IBP, Oracle, Kinaxis, OMP) and advanced Excel skills.

Agile, solution-oriented, and capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

 

Organizational Reporting:

Reports to the Executive Director, Head of Regional Commercial Supply Chain

Collaborates closely with other Regional Supply Chain Directors to drive harmonization and standardization of process (where appropriate) across the regions.

Travel Requirement:

Up to 25% regional travel; occasional global travel to support global S&OP and leadership meetings.
