About this opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with 8+ years of experience in Master Data Management (MDM), Data Governance, and Business Process Analysis to support strategic Customer MDM, Product MDM, and Brand MDM. The candidate will partner with business stakeholders, data stewards, architects, and implementation teams to define business requirements, design master data solutions, drive data governance adoption, and enable high-quality business outcomes across commercial domain for Novartis. The role supports establishment of a single source of truth, standardized data models, governance frameworks, and improved analytics capabilities.

Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Analysis & Requirements ManagementLead business requirement workshops, stakeholder interviews, and discovery sessions across global and local markets.Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business, functional, and non-functional requirements.Act as the primary liaison between Global Product teams, Country MDM teams, business stakeholders, and IT teams.Conduct impact assessments to identify business, process, architectural, and technical dependencies affecting MDM initiatives.Translate business needs into BRDs, FRDs, user stories, epics, use cases, process flows, and acceptance criteria.Define UAT strategies, business test scenarios, and acceptance criteria.Clarify and refine requirements throughout the project lifecycle and obtain business sign-off.Facilitate requirement handover sessions to delivery, development, and support teams.Master Data , Data Model and Data QualityDefine and document requirements related to Customer Master Data, Brand Master and Reference Data and Hierarchies.Analyse master data entities, relationships, affiliations, business rules, and data models.Support development and enhancement of global data models, business glossaries, and master data standards.Evaluate local market needs against global standards and recommend scalable, harmonized solutions.Drive data standardization, hierarchy management, and attribute harmonization initiativesDefine/Validate data quality rules, validation criteria, monitoring processes, and KPI frameworks.Monitor data quality metrics including completeness, accuracy, consistency, uniqueness, and timeliness.Partner with business, technical and operations teams to continuously improve data quality and adoption.Change Management & Business AdoptionDevelop training materials, process documentation, and knowledge transfer content.Conduct stakeholder onboarding and user training sessions.Support country onboarding, rollout activities, and adoption of new MDM capabilities.Drive organizational change management activities to ensure successful business adoption.Measure adoption, business value realization, and continuous improvement opportunitiesEssential Requirements: Functional:Requirement GatheringCreate Functional Specifications documentsAgile & Scrum MethodologiesStakeholder ManagementGap AnalysisData Model and High-Level design creationsTest case Reviews and UAT CoordinationDomain:Pharma and Life sciencesTechnology:Any Master Data Management (MDM) tool (Preferred Reltio)Snowflake / SQLJIRA ManagementAPI / IntegrationsSalesforce Lifesciences CloudServiceNowDesirable Requirements:  Bachelor's or master's degree in information technology, Data Management, Life Sciences, or any related field.8+ years of Business Analysis experience.3+ years of MDM/Data Governance experience.Experience working with global stakeholders across multiple geographies.Experience working with implementation partners and vendors.Exposure to large-scale data transformation and digital programs.Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion / EEO paragraph: Novartis is committed to building an outstanding, inclusive work environment and diverse teams’ representative of the patients and communities we serve.  Why Novartis: Helping people with disease and their families takes more than innovative science.
