#LI-HybridAs DAP Manager (Data, AI, Analytics & Platforms), you will act as the local technical expert for data, analytics, automation and AI within the Execution Excellence function at Novartis Pharma Austria. In this role, you will take ownership of driving value from data and AI across Commercial, Value & Access (V&A), and Medical Affairs teams - ensuring that global Novartis strategy and capabilities are translated into impactful solutions. You will work across the core Novartis analytics and platform stack - including Python, Azure, Snowflake, and Power BI - to design and deliver applied automation solutions, AI/GenAI use cases, and scalable data products. GenAI and agentic AI, will serve as a strategic acceleration layer on top of a strong data and analytics foundation, supported by platform localization and operational readiness.
Major AccountabilitiesExecution Excellence Data, AI, Analytics and Platforms manager supports Commercial, Value & Access and Medical Affairs teams across the following listed accountabilities.Data and AnalyticsAct as a hands-on data and analytics expert within Execution Excellence, developing production-grade solutions in Python and SQL for data transformation, statistical modeling, machine learning, and automation - working closely with technically strong Integrated Insights Managers.Design, build, and own local data models, transformation logic, and scalable SQL pipelines in Snowflake, applying global data architecture standards to local business needs in close collaboration with DDIT and International CLS DAP.Take full accountability to integrate local data sources (e.g. CRM, SFMC, financial and market data platforms) into the global Snowflake ecosystem, ensuring high standards of data quality, lineage, governance, and compliance with local data privacy regulations.Co-create Power BI solutions, lead the end-to-end design and enable dashboarding and reporting solutions. Build and maintain robust, scalable Power BI semantic models on Snowflake, ensuring high performance, reliable refresh cycles, and a consistent single source of truth for business-critical metrics.Leverage Azure, Open AI data and novel AI services to enable data integration, model development, deployment, and AI use cases - ensuring full alignment with the global Novartis platform landscape. AI/Gen AICollect and prioritize local business requirements for AI/GenAI, agentic AI and advanced analytics; co-define the country AI roadmap with the Head Integrated Insights & DAP, International CLS DAP and BSI DAP Ops.Drive local adoption and impact of AI/GenAI and agentic AI products aligned with International DAP strategy and the Novartis AI Strategy, including AI-driven recommendations, Next Best Action, execution orchestration tools, content and campaign optimization, and emerging agentic AI workflows that autonomously plan and execute multi-step analytical or operational tasks.Define and apply measurement frameworks for AI use cases (adoption, recommendation quality, time saved, autonomy levels for agentic solutions, business impact on key KPIs) and consolidate learnings to inform future roadmap decisions.Champion responsible and ethical AI use locally, ensuring all AI/GenAI and agentic deployments respect data privacy, the Novartis Code of Ethics, functional separation requirements (including medical/commercial boundaries) and emerging AI governance standards.Coordinate with Capability Building to plan and deliver AI/GenAI and agentic AI training and enablement, ensuring users understand how to interpret, oversee and safely act on AI-generated insights and AI agent outputs. Platforms & AutomationCreate and maintain reusable analytical assets and automation workflows to drive efficiency, scalability, and reproducibility across use cases.Lead the localization, configuration, and linkage of selected platforms (e.g. CRM, SFMC, financial and market data platforms), ensuring they are effectively tailored to local market needs in alignment with International CLS DAP, IMACE DAP, and V&A guidance.Partner closely with the local Field Excellence and Integrated Insights teams to ensure reliable day-to-day platform operations, including system availability, performance monitoring, and timely incident resolution - working in collaboration with BSI Hyderabad, DDIT, and external vendors to maintain uninterrupted business operations across campaigns, field execution, and medical engagement.RequirementsUniversity degree in informatics, bioscience or business administrationEnglish/Country language desirable5+ years in digital platforms, automation, AI or analytics rolesProfound knowledge of data modeling and data basesExpertise in SQL, Python for data transformationSnowflake (preferably) or Databricks or equivalent extensive knowledgeAzure, OpenAI or similarPowerBI and dashboard solutions for insights generation and data presentationCopilot applications, Copilot Studio and Microsoft 365 use casesChange Management and Capability Building to ensure AI adoption in the corporate setting and to enable AI-generated insightsRewards At Novartis, we’re committed to reimagining medicine together - and rewarding the people who make it happen. Expected Annual Base Salary Range for role: 65,606.00 - 104,400.00 EUR The salary offered is determined based on gender-neutral objectives, such as relevant skills, competencies and experience in accordance with the Novartis pay setting policy and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for a performance-based bonus depending on certain performance parameters. Further details will be provided during the application process.
